Internal Assignment Applicable for December 2020 Examination
1. Virtual reality refers to interactive images or videos which enable the viewer to explore
the entire 360 degrees of a scene. Unlike a regular image of video, which is shot from a
fixed view point, VR production captures every part of a location. In the travel industry,
virtual reality can be used to capture tourism destinations in a unique and immersive way.
This is achieved using specialist cameras, rigs, and software. The finished content can
then be viewed on either a VR headset or a regular computer or mobile device. Many
people assume that VR content can only be viewed on a specialist VR headset but this is
not the case. You have been appointed as a consultant to a travel company Kesariya, who
plans to implement VR technology. What are the different ways in which Kesariya can
use VR? What benefits will the company have in using such technology?

2. Schneider Electric announced the launch of ‘Easy Homes', bringing Internet of Things
(IoT) to power homes. Easy Homes empowers customers to manage power in their homes
through a single app, the company said in a statement. With four interfaces, it can be
operated through Alexa or Google Home, smart phone, remote and switches to control
power usage in the house, it said. It converts homes into a smart home, turning every
switch and appliance into a connected device, the company said. Easy Homes can be
installed without changing the existing electrical setup, upgrading homes in just about
four hours, the statement said. Mention the names of companies and their products that
offer smart home solutions. What are the security threats when using smart homes?

3. Augmented reality can be defined as that technology that allows adding virtual elements
to a real image that is visualized through an electronic device. For this, markers or codes
are usually used so that, when focused on an adapted device, it projects a virtual image
onto a real image, thus creating a transformed reality. Augmented reality in education is
part of what are called emerging pedagogies.
These teaching techniques are defined as those pedagogical ideas that arise around
Information Technologies and that propose new educational approaches based on
collaboration, interaction, creativity and innovation. The objective of augmented reality
in education is to build environments with a high degree of participation and interactivity,
in which the student is able to build, design, modify, experiment and become much more
actively involved in the learning process. Augmented reality is a relatively young
technology. It has been used in the educational field for years, but there is no doubt that
its implementation is still scarce. There is still a long way to go to take advantage of this
technology in the classroom, but there are already numerous ways to integrate augmented
reality in education. (Source: https://analyticsindiamag.com/augmented-reality-and-the-
